The race is on to 2024, with the whole country seemingly keen to put this bonkers year them. Naturally, a New Year’s Day festival is the go-to option for anyone keen to baptise the new year, and thankfully, Field Day has come through with an absolutely massive lineup for 2024, so much so that it’s a bit overwhelming trying to figure just who to see.
Luckily, we’ve got you covered, and have assembled a list of our five favourite (and predominantly Australian) artists playing on this year’s bill. Check them out below, and follow our suggestions to the letter (or else!).
Thank us later:
Aussie dance stalwarts RÜFÜS DU SOL are a group on a mission for their first set of 2024, returning to Field Day five years later for another explosion of euphoria. Their potent blend of transcendent productions with moody vocals and their absolutely bonkers live show has firmly established them as a premiere festival act. Expect no different for Field Day this year, with a whole new live show and album in Surrender more than capable of blasting you into the next dimension.
Logic1000 is coming home with a vengeance as we head into 2024. After years of soundtracking dance floors across Europe, she’s poised to bring her unique brand of breaks, house and electro to her hometown for a show I dont think any of us will be able to forget. Whether she’s dialling up the tempo for a stank-face inducing frenzy or slowing things down for a full journey into rhythm, she’s capable of making you feel either way, and will no doubt make for a special moment at this year’s festivities.
Sydney-based fukhed has had a breakout year to say the least. From being flown to Berlin to play the famous Hoer mix series too playing at Mode Festival on Cockatoo Island, she’s on a fast track to be an international export. Known for a potent mix of breaks, techno, house and more, Lynn is more than capable of bringing the heat, and will be warming up the Left Field stage come NYD. Wanna see the promising talent bubbling within the local dance scene? Fukhed is well and truly one of the go-to’s for Field Day 2024.
Willo and her slice of rose-coloured melancholy are set to serenade attendees into bliss when she takes to the Field Day stage on January 1st. Hot off a bunch of live sets at Listen Out, Someday Soon, Harbourlife and more, Willo has a crazy burst of momentum right now that’s tangible every time you see her live. And trust us, whether she’s one the ones and twos or recreating her original works layer by layer, she’s guaranteed to give you an unforgettable show either way. .
UK grime artist Central Cee needs no introduction, but we’ll try anyway. Amassing millions of fans for his portrayal of growing up in South London along with the ins-and-outs of his life as a rap star, Cench is by far one of the biggest MCs in the world at the moment. He represents a new kind of rapper, one that embraces his vulnerability through a Gen Z lens. Prepare to absolutely ravage your vocal chords along with him come Jan 1st, as he rattles through world-beloved hits like ‘Sprinter’, ‘Too Much’, ‘Doja’ and numerous more.
