Fuck yeah, long weekend!

Here are five parties that you should definitely attend this long weekend – we’ll be at each and every one, so come and say hello! The turn-ups will be very real:

jack-4(1)

As we announced yesterday, Alison Wonderland will be playing at an exclusive house party in Sydney this Friday night. Having toured extensively across the United States over the past few months, she’ll be hitting this secret Sydney location before trekking across regional Australia with Groovin The Moo. Expect there to be a few special guests in the building, with food and drink also provided by our mates at Red Bull. We’re giving away some double passes to the house party – don’t miss your chance to catch Alison in her element. Enter the competition here, with entries closing this Thursday. Last weekend, viral artist Scott Marsh outdid his Kanye-kissing-Kanye mural with another topical piece portraying Mike Baird with a kebab and a glass of wine at 1:31am. It’s painted on the back wall of our favourite Chippendale watering hole, The Lord Gladstone, and you can see it in the flesh with the venue’s next soiree this Friday night! Bad Friends is a collaboration with our pals over at Entropico, and it’s a full venue takeover that spreads from the downstairs courtyard and into the upstairs gallery space. On the decks will be Simon Lewicki as well as club favourites like Joyride, Slowblow and Matka. The best part? There’s a 2:00am meat raffle. Who doesn’t love free beef patties in the wee hours of the morning? Sign us up.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23

RHYTHM OF THE NIGHT @ PLAN B SMALL CLUB
WHO: LEVINS, ARIANE, TULETT, KRITTY & MORE
COST: $15 RIGHT HERE

Our mate DJ Levins doesn’t stop with the amount of ridiculous parties he’s hosting across Sydney – in addition to his recent Justin Bieber appreciation party and two incoming tribute nights to Drake, he’s celebrating the 2nd birthday of Rhythm of the Night. It’s all about 90s dance anthems here – think Vengaboys and Eiffel 65, while they also slow down the BPM with iconic pop jams from Britney Spears, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and the ilk. Wear something sparkly and head down to Plan B Small Club to celebrate the golden era, and prepare for mass sing-a-longs and at least three songs that you forgot existed. [Image by XingerXanger]

SUNDAY, APRIL 24

THE NAUGHTY NOUGHTIES @ THE CLIFF DIVE
WHO: FLEXMAMI, BATESY, NES & 24 KARAT KEV
COST: $5 ON THE DOOR

People always talk about 1990s hip-hop with tears of nostalgia in their eyes, but for the slightly younger generation, the 2000s produced some absolutely magical music! Do you remember the first time you heard 50 Cent diss Ja Rule? How about bumping ‘One Call Away’ by Chingy on your L plates? From Dipset to Diddy, we can’t count the amount of 2000s rap heaters that we still have on repeat – and that’s what The Naughty Noughties is here to celebrate. Residents Nes and 24 Karat Kev will be joined by FlexMami & Batesy, while they’ll be topping off the American hip-hop appreciation with some British R&B/UKG flavour in the form of a Craig David medley. CAPTAIN’S CLUB @ WATSONS BAY BOUTIQUE HOTEL
WHO: THE ASTON SHUFFLE, SET MO REFUGE & MORE
COST: $40 RIGHT HERE

LUKELWA-9315

Watsons Bay provides one of Sydney’s most breathtaking views, which is why it’s no surprise that many of dance music’s more refined stars have been recruited to play at the seaside location. This time around, it’s house veterans The Aston Shuffle, joined by Set Mo, Refuge and more. Nobody really does a Sunday soiree quite like the Eastern Suburbs, so put on a crisp white linen shirt and drink a few cocktails. If you arrive between 2:00 – 4:00pm, you’ll also receive a free drink courtesy of Captain Morgan. Cheers to the Captain! [Image by Luke Latty]
