In the past few months we’ve had visits from D Double E & Novelist, and to close off the year we have Stormzy, JME & Skepta all coming to Australia – and it seems like the UK flavour is well and truly alive on our shores. Gassed has become a hub for all things Grime & UK Bass, and you can prepare for the incoming tours in a rave den environment at Plan B Small Club, soundtracked by Triple J’s Shantan Wantan Ichiban plus Max Gosford & Moriarty of Low Motion.
Rum experts and seasoned party-throwees Bacardi are celebrating analog music culture with a series of six events in Sydney, placed under the Fuego Revolutions banner. If you live in Sydney, there’s a strong chance that you had more than a few all-nighters at the infamous Club 77 – and the Darlinghurst spot is back in refurbished form to host Otologic, Edd Fisher, Adi Toohey and more.
Player Hater’s Ball is back once again, the joint project between Joyride (One Day/The Meeting Tree) and the aforementioned Shantan Wantan Ichiban. Promising baby-making R&B jams and all of your favourite strip club anthems, expect the soundtrack to dance all over the Rap and R&B realms, while they’ve also promised to play ‘Dat Stick’ by Rich Chigga. Huge. This time around, guests include FlexMami and the GIRLS trio of Yemisul, Ebony & Anissa.
Rackett are an all-girl rock crew who just unleashed their first single ‘BATS‘ – and having already earned airplay on Triple J and FBi airwaves, they’re taking it across the East Coast with an Australian tour. Sydney’s stop is taking place at favoured Oxford Street haunt Brighton Up Bar, so head along for plenty of riffs and attitude to boot. Support comes from The Dinlows, Liquid Time & Galaxy Girls.
For the second year in a row, the Beresford Dog Show is back! What’s better than going to a pub and seeing lots of dogs? Rhetorical question, dogs are and always will be the best. Head down here and pat something.
