Seeing as Ja Rule’s tour was announced earlier this week, there’s plenty of reason to celebrate at Sydney’s 2000s hip-hop party, The Naughty Noughties. There’ll be plenty of anthems from the Murder Inc crew, and resident queen DJ Nes will also deliver a midnight medley dedicated to their arch rivals in G-Unit. Shantan Wantan Ichiban and Jordvn round up the lineup alongside ‘Chinatown Champs’ duo DJ Chardonnay & 24 Karat Kev.
Father have been throwing some of the wildest bass-heavy parties in recent memory, and here they’ve teamed up with Audiopaxx to present a show from London producer Troyboi. Whether it’s his originals, remixes or collaborations with the likes of Flosstradamus, Troyboi has been hailed as one of the most exciting breakout producers in dance. Tickets for this one are on final release, so don’t sleep and expect to get very sweaty.
Seasoned DJ champion Krafty Kuts will be honouring the late legend Prince with a tribute set at Oxford Art Factory, where the crowd will be drenched in purple and treated to a wicked reimagination of Prince’s catalogue. Krafty Kuts will be joined by local heroes Kid Kenobi and Q45, and will also be presenting his favoured Golden Era sets. Want a lesson in DJing? Sign up right here, it’ll be heaps fun.
The Lord Gladstone isn’t done for the year yet – they’ll be moving things back outdoors for another edition of Friday night staple Good Friends. This time, we have Mowgli May (Swiss Dank/FBi Radio) as well as Shantan Wantan Ichiban (Triple J) on the decks, with the night rounded up by Tulett.
Feel like partying well into Christmas morning? Strxnger are packing up their party and moving to the newly re-opened Lady Hampshire – from the same crew who upgraded The Lord Gladstone – and will be delivering into the early hours of the morning with in-house DJs as well as guests like Jade Le Flay, and an additional ~ very special guest ~ yet to be announced.
