In September, global RnB star, TikTok lord and entrepreneur Jason Derulo is hitting Aus as part of his ‘The Last Dance’ World Tour, bringing all the hits, iconic dance moves and JD swagger to a town near you.
Recently, he confirmed he’s a man of the people, responding to the public outcry and booking an additional stop on the tour in Adelaide. It’s pretty rare in today’s touring climate for an artist to do that, so on behalf of our South Australian pals, we say thank you.
This legendary behaviour sent us down a JD wormhole. The kind of wormhole where you come out the other side and feel like you really know the guy. Along the way, we discovered a few things that perhaps the general populace, and maybe even some Derulo Girls and Derulo Boys, have never heard…

And now that that’s out of the way, check out five things that you (probably) didn’t know about Jason Derulo below, and we’ll see you at the shows!
#1. He’ll Wash Your Car
Outside of music, JD is making money moves, and one of his biggest investments is Rocket Carwash, a subscription-based car wash business that has grown into a multi-billion-dollar venture.
#2. He’s A TikTok Pioneer
In 2020, Derulo embraced TikTok, becoming one of the platform’s biggest stars through elaborate stunts, comedy skits and challenges. The success of ‘Savage Love’ helped launch him back into the mainstream and introduced him to an entirely new generation of fans.
#3 He’s Sold A Few Singles…
#4. He Was A Hitmaker Before He Was A Star
Long before ‘Whatcha Say’ made him famous, Derulo was writing songs for other performers and making connections in the industry. In fact, he co-wrote tracks for artists including Diddy, Danity Kane, Sean Kingston and Lil Wayne before launching his own solo career.
#5 He Won’t Listen To Doctors
Well, he didn’t when he broke his neck in 2012 and doctors warned him he may never perform again. Within months, our guy was back on the touring circuit, lighting up stages around the world.
