It’s no secret we’re huge fans of Hayden James at LWA, the Sydney producer representing for us hard on the international stage with enough bangers to last a lifetime. He’s a total beast, and his latest release ‘Waves of Gold’ featuring Azteck & Paije continues his venturing into pop territory, all the while keeping the secret sauce and lush EDM flavouring that’s helped the nation fall in love with him throughout the years. Along with the release, the seasoned EDM god has blessed us with a sick as compilation of exclusives & personal favourites, coming through with a solid 45 minutes of pure bliss. We’re bumping it on repeat in the office, and so we thought we’d give you the low down on which tracks are really hitting the spot for us.
Check it below.
Of course, the opening track and the latest single from the man himself doesn’t disappoint. Featuring some mad vocals from Azteck & Paije, HJ crafts a proper summer banger perfect for those arvo dances by the pool. The production is as smooth as always, the ‘Right Time’ hitmaker perfectly complimenting the trance-like vocals with a wicked precision. It works perfectly as an opener and as a stand-alone single. I mean, would you expect anything less?
On your marks, get set…. too late. This Bob Moses tune ‘Hold Me Up’ is lightyears ahead of you, manifesting a perfect groove landscape perfect for insertion of the listener. It appears to be a bit of an exclusive, and we’re not at all mad at that. Fingers crossed we get to see this beauty live soon hey?
The Kisch & Syon thumper embodies everything we love about the beloved pair as well as old mate HJ. Fun, carefree euphoria limitless in range & bound. Those sweet tenor vocals fall upon those glittery chords so damn perfectly as well, gathering momentum like a Space X rocket hurtling toward Mars. This is definitely one I’ll be queuing next time I’m in charge of the aux, mark my words!
Featuring one of the grooviest bass lines in recent memory, Local Dialect’s remix of Gorgon City’s ‘Poseidon’ is a proper banger that inverts time & place, leaving behind a mad melting pot of mood & funk. It also features one of the most euphoric build ups I’ve ever heard, peppered with gorgeous electronic flares that are fire enough to light even the quietest of dance floors ablaze.
If you’re missing dance floors as much as us, I’m sorry, but you’re about to miss them a whole lot more. Ferreck Dawn turns up on ‘Remedy’ as much as you’d expect, Shyam P’s vocals adding just enough suave and polish to help create a utterly transcendent house banger perfect to rock a three-piece suit to. It’s hard not to visualise this beauty playing live, trapping a packed dance floor in the pocket, holding them for an eternity in a minute. You definitely need to get on it now.
