This will be amazing.

Local production masters Flight Facilities have never been afraid to push the boundaries, especially in the live arena – and here comes their most ambitious performance to date.

From their debut album Down To Earth to collaborations with Kylie Minogue, Flight Facilities have been going from strength to strength in recent years. Their popularity has seen them tour countless times on Australia’s club and festival circuit, as well as extensive stints overseas – and now they’ll be taking over the sizeable space that is The Domain in Sydney, home of NYD festival Field Day. They’ll be joined by none other than the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for the gig on September 10.

Flight Facilities’ take on dance and electronica has always been on the more tasteful side, so the addition of orchestral elements and live vocalists has done wonders for them in the past. Last year, they performed a similar feat in Melbourne at the Myer Music Bowl with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and collaborators like Reggie Watts and Owl Eyes. That show sold 12,000 tickets in under 3 hours, so you know that this will be huge. Sydney’s show will hold a 15,000 person capacity, and it will sell out.

This colossal show with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra is the first event to be announced from the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender, which will hit Sydney for the first time this year. If this is just the beginning, we can’t wait to see what else they have in store.

Flight Facilities with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra? This is the biggest news since Cypress Hill collaborated with the London Symphony Orchestra. Tickets go on sale from 9:00am this Thursday, April 28 – get yours right here.
