The brainchild of triple j presenter and Paralympian Dylan Alcott, the inaugural Ability Fest is going down on April 7th at the Coburg Velodrome in Melbourne, and “aims to use music as a platform to normalise disability by encouraging everyone – regardless of age, gender, disability or race – to come together in celebration of live music.”
All artists have donated their time, with 100% of proceeds from the event going towards helping young Australians with disabilities, and the event emphasises that “the venue will be fully accessible for, and inclusive of, all patrons, no matter their abilities.”
The lineup features local artists from all ends of the spectrum, with Flight Facilities going B2B with Client Liaison in a DJ set, plus Tkay Maidza, Boo Seeka, Ivan Ooze, Motez and Melbourne’s own party-starter Mimi.
