Once upon a time, Flume was a 20 year old kid from the Northern Beaches writing music on his laptop.

Fast forward 10ish years and he’s now, like… a 31 year old kid writing music on his laptop. Crazy, right? Well, if you factor in a Grammy award, billions of streams, huge shows and (to a lesser extent) ARIA awards, that makes the story of Flume much more mythical. Hmmm. Probably should have led with that.

Anyway, you know Flume, we know Flume. But what neither of us knew, up until this morning, is ‘Slugger 1.4[2014 Export.WAV’. The track was uncovered by Flume on an old hard drive from the Flume era, and teased out on the below reel and now is here for your listening pleasure:

“Made this one in Paris, always loved this demo but it never quite made it onto an album. I figured now that it’s 10 years since my first album was released it would be a good time to share. Hope you like it x,” Flume said. Take a listen below, and check out dates for his live show (tickets here).
