In what is a crazy milestone that definitely makes us feel just a bit nostalgic, 2020 is the 25th anniversary of Foo Fighters. Even though the band aimed to tour and had other huge plans to celebrate the milestone, COVID-19 and all of its shittines has effectively put a stop to those. Yet, the band have still been making the most of 2020, with Dave Grohl engaging in a viral drum battle that took the world by storm as well as the group announcing a new album. Now, Foo Fighters have done the next best thing, announcing their own taco.

In a fucking epic move, the group has teamed up with Casa Vega Restaurant in California for a limited-time-only Foo Fighters Taco. The celebratory dish features smoked brisket, BBQ sauce, Mexican Cole slaw, red pickled onion and chopped cilantro, nestled and cradled by a homemade flour tortilla. They’re also getting their own tequila beer cocktail in the Los Luchadores Foo, which features La Gritona Reposado, fresh lime juice, and Modelo Especial beer.

The partnership has a bit of special meaning as well, with profits from the sale of each taco and drink being donated to No Us Without You, which is an LA-based charity that “provides food security for ridiculously hardworking, undocumented, back-of-house restaurant workers that are unemployed due to COVID-19.”

It’s a mad move and definitely the type of thing you’d expect from one of the most wholesome bands in rock history. Fingers crossed the tacos (the Foo-Fighters themselves) make their way down under sometime in the near future. For now, check out the video the band and restaurant made to announce the partnership, which shows Grohl flexing those acting chops he rarely blesses us with.
