Coming off collaborations with Goldlink and What So Not, sultry local singer George Maple has just dropped the video for her new track ‘Lover’, and it features a curious blend of seductive showers and bare knuckle boxing. Winning combination!
George Maple, the Sydney-born singer who spends most of her time in Los Angeles, flexes her potential once more on ‘Lover’ with seductive vocals over down-tempo dance beats. In the video, Maple features alongside in-demand model Jordan Barrett, who is featured topless and dramatically bearing his fists. The video isn’t without some steamy shower scenes, where she’s depicted wearing a tight crop top and latex legging as she’s sprayed with water rivulets. On top of her signature vocals, Maple also headed up production on the track. Speaking on the song, she said:
I wanted to capture the beauty in the primal obsession of love. Messy love. Destructive love. The dopamine effect. The power of loss or struggle and what it drives humans to do. I wanted to capture that feeling in a film, I wanted to feel the rage and confusion of complex love, or love you simply don’t want to have but can’t seem to get away from. It could be the wrong timing, or you could be involved with someone else, it could be forbidden love, they could be completely wrong for you but there’s a magnetism that drives you completely insane.
