Newtown will be swapping TNs for boots this June long weekend.

Is country(ish) music having a bit of a moment at the… ahh… moment? With today’s announcement, it might seem so. But, if you’ve had your ear to the straw-covered ground over the past few years and caught I Oh You signee Andy Golledge, or National Live Music Award-winner Caitlin Harnett, or folkish newcomer Babitha, you’ll probably be well aware of a large (and growing) community of cowboys/girls/people.

Now, thanks to Country & Inner Western – which also happens to be the name of Golledge’s show on Orbital Radio – we’re getting a massive serve of the world’s most underrated genre over the June long weekend, with a lineup that not only includes the local heavyweights above but will also see Tex Perkins doing Johnny Cash, Kasey Chambers, All Our Exes Live In Texas grace the stage.

Curated by Music & Booze Co, who you’d know from events like Bad Friday and King St Crawl, the festival will also incorporate a bunch of pubs and bars around Newtown who’ll be gearing up for some lap steel and crooning. Check out the lineup below and head here to get your hands on a ticket:
