The single also features production from Melbourne powerhouse Swick and Sydney duo Korky Buchek…

Gold Fang is sneaking in with one last single before his debut headline show this Saturday, the Trinidadian MC unveiling his new collaboration with Melbourne songstress, CD. Titled ‘Drop’, the new offering from the two artists draws from R&B and dancehall spheres for a sensual bop about attraction and lust.

The beat (produced by Swick and Korky Buck) makes use of summer-inspired drums and hypnotic synth inflections, the two meshing together for an eclectic soundscape. Gold Fang and CD each bring their signature utterances to the record, CD dropping sultry vocal ad libs and verses while Gold Fang hits hard and fast with punchy raps and singing. The accompanying visualiser dials up the steam of the sonics by tenfold, intricate camera work focused on the human body as it moves in response to the melodics.

Speaking on the meaning behind the new record and linking up with collaborator CD, Gold Fang explains, “‘Drop’ is “about this sexy girl who I can’t take my eyes off. The way she moves is intoxicating” while adding, “Working with CD was calm. I was a lil shy to work with someone who I respect like that. She a gangster, but she is subtle with it.”

It’s a stellar offering from the two rising stars. Gold Fang and CD’s new single ‘Drop’ is out now. You can buy/stream it here.
