Along with some sneaky tour dates…

Melbourne singer-songwriter Gretta Ray is coming through hard for our Thursday mornings, unveiling the official release date for her debut album Begin To Look Around. Set to arrive August 27th, the debut full-length project sees the wunderkind chronicle the  romance, heartbreak, friendship and womanhood that’s defined the last couple of years of her life.

Speaking on the new project, Gretta notes “This record is a documentation and celebration of the lessons I have learned about love, life and my unremitting passion for music as I’ve stepped into my early twenties.”

Along with the new album, Gretta has released her second double A-side single from her album, with the second pair of songs ‘Human and Passion’ (Duology 2) outlining an intimate relationship and how Gretta’s feelings around it have “grown up” with her over the past couple of years.” To build upon the sentiment, the former of the two tunes has also gotten a sneaky visualiser, which is an evocation of natural imagery to expand upon the salient lyric ‘Your body is a landscape’ in the tune.

And it looks like the 22 year old has plans to tour the lush pair of offerings, announcing some special Sydney and Melbourne shows on June 24th and July 1st. No doubt they’ll be a sublime teaser of what to expect when the full album drops in late August.
