Kiss have mistaken Austria for Australia during a concert in Vienna over the weekend. The rock band, who are currently in the midst of their ‘End Of The Road’ world tour, projected an on-stage message to audiences in Austria’s capital, with a large screen display that read “Kiss Loves You, Vienna.”
In an apparent mishap by concert organisers, however, the thank-you message was superimposed with the Union Jack and Southern Cross of the Australian flag, leaving the 9000-strong Austrian crowd scratching their heads. While the band has yet to respond to the inaccuracy (Austria’s flag is three simple horizontal lines), fans have taken to social media to comment on the blunder.

The misplaced lettering took place during the European leg of Kiss’ world tour, which will wrap up at the end of July before embarking on Australian dates the following month. To truly commit to the bit, Kiss simply must fly the Austrian flag when they first hit Melbourne in late August.

They’ll have to show the Austrian flag when they tour Australia. It’s only fair.

If there’s any doubt that Kiss is an American band here’s the proof.

Tourist shops in Austria sell stuffed Kangaroos and Koalas because it’s easier than explaining to Americans that those animals exist in Australia.
