Kanye West names what he believes is “best song in the history of music to date,” before reminiscing on his own discography…

Kanye West has revealed a list of his favourite songs, taking to Instagram to share his thoughts on recent releases from the likes of Beyoncè and DJ Khaled. Using the platform for something other than airing his messy divorce from ex-wife Kim Kardashian, first praising the song ‘Church Girl’, which appeared on Beyoncè’s most recent album Renaissance

Sharing a screenshot of the Gospel-inspired track, Kanye declared the track his “favourite song on Beyoncé album” in the accompanying caption. Later, he named the Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z-assisted title track of Khaled’s recent album God Did as “the song of the year next to ‘Wait For You,’” presumably referring to Future and Drake’s 2022 song of the same name.

Elsewhere, he deemed Wizkid’s 2020 single ‘Essence’, which featured singer Tems, as the “best song in the history of music to date,” before singing his own praises with a screenshot of his recent collaboration with The Game. Released this year, the track featured fellow rappers Dreezy and CHILLER, and comprised the tracklist of The Game’s most recent album DRILLMATIC Heart vs. Mind.

“Me [and] game have never missed like literally have never missed. Just like me and Pusha,” Kanye wrote in the post’s caption, referring to his decades-long collaboration with rapper Pusha T. Over the years, the pair have shared verses on ‘Runaway’, ‘Mercy’ and ‘So Appalled’, among many others.

West’s sharing of his favourites playlist follows similar praises revealed by Tyler, The Creator who named ‘Fuck All Nite’, ‘Excuse Me Miss’ and ‘Allure’ among his top Jay-Z songs “in no particular order.” While the pair only worked together previously on Frank Ocean’s ‘Biking’ in 2017, Tyler wrote at the time that Jay’s verses “put a lot in perspective for me as a kid.”
