The banging tunes continue to flood in…

Howdy party people. How are you all faring this Monday arvo? Blessed and kicking back under the sun I bet! But enough of your flexing on me as I sit in the office, let’s get down to business! Five tracks by some kick ass local acts incoming!

Check it below.

Juice Webster – ‘Wanna Be Held’

Melbourne singer songwriter Juice Webster reaches deep within your soul and caresses it with a regenerative touch in ‘Wanna Be Held,’ taking all of her reactivity and sense of lost & infusing it into a cathartic lullaby. Featuring a gentle guitar line and steady beat, the Melbourne lyrical hummer totally pulls you into her orbit with this haunting tone that feels eerily familiar but distant. She incorporates some of her alt-rock sensibilities throughout as well, little flickers of badass chords and vocal inflections peppered here and there as she pours her heart out about the emotional turmoil that comes with being a creative. A beautiful track that’ll entrance you into the night, do yourself a favour and check it below.

Lamalo – ‘Inertia’ ft. Little Green & MorningMaxwell

Sydney production-duo Lamelo get you up and moving with their debut single ‘Inertia’, capturing the groove as they link up with the likes of Little Green and MorningMaxwell for a summer-sprinkled bop. The pair show off their Conservatorium background on the track mad hard, using expertly placed synth lines and other bits of instrumentation (along with some gorgeous vocals from Little Green), crafting a fluttering-sonic escapade that takes your hand and lifts you off into the heavens.

Also, this is so worth mentioning, but the mix on the track is fucking sick, sitting perfectly between punchy and subtle, penetrating through all audio barriers to reverberate around your mind for hours on end. See what we’re fangirling about below.

SLUMBERJACK – ‘Memory’ ft. Tailor

Perth EDM duo SLUMBERJACK craft a dancefloor ready thumper that glitters with euphoria in ‘Memory,’ indulging in the dark and mysterious as they venture deeper toward sonic nirvana. Decorated with waves of swooping synths, the tune sees the two sonic shamans link up with the soaring vocals of UK producer Tailor as they craft an engulfing anthem that’s just perfect for punters to scream at the top of their lungs. As usual, the tune is charged with emotion, drawing from a sombre palette that perfectly captures the bittersweet beauty of  times gone by. If you’re in the mood for an emotional rollercoaster-and-a-half for your Monday arvo, do yourself a favour and indulge below.

Muki – ‘I Make Boys Cry’

The break up anthem about to set your soul on fire, wunderkind-eternal Muki crafts a hyper-pop banger in ‘I Make Boys Cry’ that reeks of bubblegum-infused luxury in every sense of the term (if such a term even exists). Following on from last year’s ‘Level Mind Fuck’, the tune sees her get even more raw and vulnerable for all of us to see as she takes inspiration from the demise of a toxic relationship. The tune sees the star fully immerse herself in the sense of growth that comes from heartbreak, sticking it to her past lover as she reaffirms her sense of badassery atop exuberant synths and explosive drums. The tune as a whole is just so foreign and unlike the majority of the music in the Aussie scene right now, reaffirming that Muki is totally unique, and that she’s truly beyond compare.

Charley – ‘Hard For Me’

After months of whispers and excitement, Sydney-based pop-starlet Charley has finally released her first single ‘Hard For Me,’ and it somehow lives up to all of the crazy expectations placed upon her and then some. The tune sees her flex her crazy vocals upon us mere mortals, digging deep into her belter bag as she projects a wicked resonance that only comes from years of practice and honing one’s craft. The tune is so deliciously pop and gorgeously captures that 2000s flare that so many souls yearn for, but is still imbued with a new-age determination that seems to come so naturally to emerging artists in 2021. A tune that would without a doubt be the ultimate song to wake up and smash a solid morning workout to, we can’t recommend it enough. Check it below.
