Fans of Minnesotan indie-pop outfit Hippo Campus rejoice. They’ve just announced they’ll beheading Down Under for a small run of shows in March next year. The group who have just released their second LP, Bambi will hit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide in what is looking like a short, but sweet visit.

When makingBambi the group were particularly wary of the way social media plays in creating ‘celebrity’. “Social media promotes this weird non-reality when it comes to artists and bands, where they get put up on a pedestal and treated like some kind of upgraded human,” says guitarist Nathan Stocker. “We’d much rather make community happen with our fans, which is the whole reason we started this in the first place.”
