The two indie rock stalwarts will be touching down in November for a run of East Coast shows.

If you’re as old as this writer, you’ll remember a time in the mid 2000s where bands like The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand, The Vines, The Hives etc etc were at the centre of the global musical conversation. “Rock” was back following the post-grunge no man’s land; it was also great time for anyone selling skinny jeans, too-small vintage tees, and fringe-heavy haircuts.

Now we’re getting the opportunity to once again celebrate this time with today’s announcement that UK’s Bloc Party and NY’s Interpol will be dialling back the years for a trio of shows on the East Coast. What can you expect? Plenty of new music and deep dive into each group’s rich catalogue, as well as plenty of 16ths on the old hi-hat (that’s for you drummers).

“The histories of Bloc Party and Interpol are intertwined at various stages of our careers. It made perfect sense to us to solidify that by playing some massive shows together in one of our favourite countries on earth. We can’t wait to get back to Australia in November,” Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke says of the shows.
