What would you give to be at a festival right now with your mates? For us, the answer is just about anything. And one of the acts that we were most looking forward to catching at Splendour this year is outsider electro-pop purveyors Cub Sport. Basking in their shimmering synths and euphoric melodies is pretty much the best way to spend a sun-soaked festival afternoon, and although we can’t give you a festival, we can give you a Cub Sport performance that will hopefully fill that live music void.
This Thursday at 5PM we’ll be sharing episode two of our Live At 5ive series on Boost Mobile’s IGTV that will see Cub Sport performing from their living room, dropping a tasty cover, and answering some of your questions. All you need to do is head here to tune in and click attending on the Facebook event to get a reminder before it all goes down.

Ahead of the set, we caught up lead singer Tim Nelson to get the inside word on life in iso for them, where they get their inspo at a time like this and more. Check it out below:

We actually kind of thrive living the quiet life.
We watched Tiger King – I was torn watching it ‘cause the animal cruelty is fucked up but Joe Exotic is basically my style icon. We also watched Unorthodox which was cool! We’ve just started Ancient Aliens on Netflix and it’s basically my dream series so far.
Messaging, FaceTime, House Party Pictionary! We’ve also been doing virtual meet and greets with fans since we had to cancel our tour and they’ve been really special!
Yes! The DIY blonde mullet set!
Yes actually! I’ve written some songs over the last few weeks that I’m kind of addicted to. I have some dream collabs in the works too which has been really amazing/unexpected!
Coming in in the Hottest 100 of the Decade is so huge, it still hardly feels real! ‘Come On Mess Me Up’ is such a special song to me – knowing that it still resonates with listeners years on from its release makes me really happy.

Yeah it was pretty sad to have to cancel. Those big US tours are always such an adventure! And getting to play for people so far from home is really special BUT I’m a strong believer in everything happening for a reason and I feel like when the US tour does happen it’s gonna be incredible.
Hug my friends!
Some stripped back Cubbies classics and maybe a Lana Del Rey cover hehe .
