Over the past few months, the Sydney four-piece have dropped a self-titled EP, signed with new label Domestic La La, and caused widespread mayhem across the country with their explosive live shows, many of which have been captured by LWA’s own photographer Pat O’Hara.
Now, Dear Seattle will be hitting the road once more, beginning their ‘Cut You Deep’ tour tonight at The Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney. Then, it’ll be around the country before wrapping things up at Miami Shark Bar on the Gold Coast, finishing comfortably before Christmas.
We caught up with singer Brae Fisher ahead of tonight’s show – read it below, and see the band in action in just a few hours:
Man, it’s been amazing! That guy’s so good. So humble and down to earth… I don’t think we had it in our minds that we wanted to sign to a label at this point but once we met James and started chatting it was a no-brainer. He’s got so much experience in exactly what we want to do.
Yeah, we ended up chucking in what they call a condition precedent at the start of the contract… that was for James to do a 750ml beer bong of VB and then we had to do one after that.
We definitely want to kick it up a bit. The last headline tour we did was pretty makeshift because we just wanted to get out there in front of people, but we’ve had a bit more time to consider everything so we’re really working on making it more of a visual experience… We’ve got some exciting stuff planned!

(Laughs) Ah, Hoobastank. That was such a joke, actually ridiculous. Standing onstage, I was like why the hell am I singing this to people? (Laughs)
All we have out is the EP which is like 20-25 minutes, but with all these headline shows we have a longer set, so we’ve got a lot of new material. But we will try and smash out a couple of covers!
I was there taking photos of Gang of Youths, and after that I was like, ‘We gotta play here!’ The sound is so good, and the room’s really cool.
