G Flip is taking to the (home) stage on tomorrow’s Live At 5ive!

It’s near impossible to compare the meteoric rise of Melbourne singer-songwriter G Flip to any other artists in the Australian music industry. After uploading her debut single to Unearthed in 2018, she quickly caught the attention of presenters and was added to rotation – a level of hype backed up by her 2020 debut LP About Us which spawned millions of streams and earned her four spots in the Hottest 100 of 2019, including a #6 with ‘Drink Too Much’.

Naturally, we’re stoked to have her on board for the fifth episode of Live At 5ive, where she’ll be playing her new song ‘Hyperfine’, dropping a fresh cover and answering your Q&A. All you have to do is head over to Boost Mobile’s IGTV at 5pm AEST tomorrow to catch the set! But for now, check out our interview below where we checked in on her leading up to tomorrow:

Can you sum up your life in iso so far in three words?

Creative, homebody, lonely

What new skills have you learnt in isolation? Have you learnt anything about yourself?

I’ve learnt to sleep better, normally my schedule and times I wake up are all over the place! I’m sleeping good right now and having a routine. I’ve also learnt that I need to slow down, I do too much.

What have you been bingeing on? TV or otherwise?

Yes! I’ve been watching The Bold Type! I first heard of this show because they use my songs – the show is awesome!

What have you been doing to stay connected with friends, fans and fam whilst in isolation?

I’ve been doing a lot of FaceTimes, zoom calls, houseparty calls everyday.

If you were to endorse any iso-related product what would it be?

Slippers! Oh my I’ve never owned slippers but they’re amazing.

Have the last few weeks inspired any new music?

Yeah for sure !! I’ve been writing a lot, it’s handy having my studio downstairs in my house.

What’s the first thing you’re gonna do when the lockdown ends?

I’m gonna go to the pub with my friends! I miss them and I miss tap beer.

What can we expect from your Live At 5ive performance?

Me chillin’ in my home studio playing a couple songs, a cover and answering questions! It’s gonna be fun.
