It’s been a few years since Lorde wowed us with her masterful pop debut Pure Heroine, and fans have been patiently waiting for the follow-up – but now it feels closer than ever.

Having locked in a high-profile appearance on Saturday Night Live on March 11, the rumour mill is ablaze with talk of a new album from the New Zealand breakout star before she appears onscreen. Now, a cryptic TV advertisement broadcast in her home country suggests that it will be dropping this week. The short clip shows Lorde sipping on a drink in a car while keys play pleasantly in the background, before being overtaken by a black screen displaying dates: March 2 for New York City, and March 3 for New Zealand.

The clip has also been uploaded at www.imwaitingforit.com, a website which has been pushed out by Lorde on her social media accounts. Many people are taking this as confirmation of a new album, but we’ll just have to wait and see what goes down this Friday. Will it be worth the four year wait? Fingers crossed.
