Zero hearts were broken in RISSA’s Q The Music episode.

And the Sydney R&B vocalist knows a thing or two about heartbreak. Her latest EP Where Love Once Was tracks a relationship from the warm, fuzzy phase through to emotional devastation and rebuild, with her silky vocals guiding you through the journey and making you feel every word. It’s one of those EPs with no skips — a full meal — which neatly brings us to her episode of Q The Music.

Tapping into her Polynesian heritage, RISSA keeps things flavourful, sweet, and simple with chicken skewers, mango salad and, in one of those “here’s one I prepared earlier” moments, a glass of traditional watermelon-based juice blend, otai. It’s the kind of spread that tastes like summer, no matter what island you’re from:

RISSA is also about to hit the road for a nationwide tour, and we can’t be more firm in recommending you get there to witness Where Love Once Was in live form. Do it. Dates below, along with our Spotify playlist from this season of Q The Music.
