The formidable duo brought us ‘Mesmerize’, ‘Always On Time’, ‘Wonderful’ and ‘Down 4 U’, and while neither artist has been snatching much spotlight in this decade, that might be all about to change. Ja Rule and Ashanti are reportedly flirting with the idea of releasing a collaborative album. At the recent BET Awards, Ashanti spoke to Entertainment Tonight and said that “me and Rule, it’s so funny because we’ve been talking about that for so long, but I think now he’s like, ‘OK, now it’s time to do it”.
“So we’re going to carve out the time and make it happen,” she added. Prior to Ashanti’s statement, Ja Rule also took to social media to suggest a joint venture, seemingly inspired by Jay Z and Beyonce’s recent surprise album, Everything Is Love.

This is definitely an album that we would welcome with open arms – let’s hope that Ja Rule and Ashanti make it happen sooner rather than later. Because really, can anything compare to this pure magic?
