It’s heating up.
Earlier this month, we revealed our Splendour lineup rumour list that includes the likes of Kendrick Lamar, The Wombats, MGMT & more. Now, it seems like we can add another to the stockpile, and it’s a big one. Having just released his album Boarding House Reach, indie favourite Jack White is taking the record on the road, trekking across North America and Europe.
However, as pointed out by Music Feeds, there does seem to be a pretty sizeable gap right around the time of Splendour, sandwiched between his set at Ilosaarirock Festival in Finland on July 15, and Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 2. Splendour is hitting Byron Bay from July 20-22. It’s a similar touring predicament that’s featured on Arctic Monkeys’ schedule, who’ve been heavily rumoured to play since early this year.
White hasn’t played the festival since 2012, and with a stack of new tunes under his belt, there seems to be no better time than now. We’ll have to wait and see if White’s name appear at the top of the 2018 bill when Splendour is announced in the coming weeks:
