BRB booking my flights to Barcelona…

When he’s not making laps around the globe as an in-demand model or melting minds as the frontman of Byron Bay’s Tora, multi-hyphenate producer Jai Piccone is hard at work as a solo artist, and the fruits of his labour are now on show in his first solo release in early five years, ‘Make Me Understand’.

A departure from Tora’s wavey mesh of indie pop and dance, the new record from Piccone is a captivating blend of euphoric synths and resolute vocals from the man himself, combining together for a soothing concoction of sonics that grow on you with every listen. From hypnotic lyrics that tell parables of interactions with water and fire to a frenzied, but measured, mix of falsettos, head voice and everything in between, the new single from Piccone is just perfect to throw down to on a Euro dance floor, and just going off the endless amount of IG stories of Aussie overseas, we’re guessing it’s set to get a rinse on a Mykonos rooftop sooner rather than later.

It’s a dreamy track to base a return on, and ironically enough, its one that’s designed to decipher the messages within Jai’s dreams, with Piccone himself adding, “I feel like my dreams somehow feed into reality and there’s a feeling of obscurity the moment I wake up.”

Jai Piccone’s new single ‘Make Me Understand’ is out now. You can buy/stream it here.
