He’s produced and played on records by Queens Of The Stoneage, Mark Lanegan, Arctic Monkeys, Eagles Of Death Metal, Silverchair, PJ Harvey and more, he’s regarded him as on of the greats in the alternative rock world, and you’ve probably heard his playing more times than you would even know about – though very little is widely known about the multi-talented Alain Johannes.
The documentary which is being released in the states in December is said to take a biographical look at his life, particularly the turbulent period around the 2008 death of his longtime collaborator and wife Natasha Shneider, and a subsequent return to his homeland in Chile.
“A story is more than a simple chain of events. It is the tale of how a flow of energy finds its way and is amplified by destiny. Here this destiny is embodied in a documentary conceived in 2010. It focuses on the life of musician Alain Johannes and how his story has shaped the return to his origin, to the country of Chile, where he was born in 1962,” director Rodolfo Gárate says.
