For many of us, Justice provided the soundtrack for our clubbing glory years. There was nothing quite like going to King’s Cross and hearing the wonderfully distorted ‘Waters of Nazareth‘ five times and getting shirtless, while we’re pretty sure that ‘D.A.N.C.E’ was every girl’s favourite song at one point or another.

That was almost a decade ago, and while those memories of cheap alcohol and skinny jeans will live on forever, it’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything from the French duo. In fact, it’s been five long years since they dropped their last album Audio, Video, Disco – but they’re back in blazing form. Justice have just dropped a new single called ‘Safe & Sound,’ which was aptly premiered by Ed Banger head honcho Busy P at Sonar festival in Barcelona – but now the studio quality audio has been shared by the ever-reliable Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1.

Featuring orchestral toppings, irresistibly thick bass and choral vocals that seem to signal the opening of the heavens, it’s almost like Justice never left – and it’s a promising six-minute peek into whatever the hell Justice are planning for 2016, although an image from label Because Music suggests there’s another full-length in the works. Listen in below, and fingers crossed for an Australian festival appearance sooner rather than later:
