In news that no doubt has social media website Instagram quaking in fear, notorious rapper Kanye West has returned to the platform after several months. Usually, actions of this calibre usually coincide with one of the rapper’s many album rollouts or public beefs, but it seems he’s opting for a more pressing matter this time: McDonalds packaging.
The return post sees the ‘All Falls Down’ rapper post a teaser of his upcoming collab with Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. If you’re not familiar with Fukasawa’s resumè, he’s garnered critical acclaim in the design world and is frequently referred to as one of the most influential designers in the world.
Thus, you’d expect his McDonalds cheeseburger collab with Yeezy to blow your socks off, but regrettably, the pair have managed to make the beloved favourite look distinctly unappetising, turning it into a square and encasing it in translucent wrapping paper. To add insult to injury, the colour palette of the paper swaps out the usually vibrant and eye-catching colours of the OG packaging for a muted and desaturated alternative.

Whether the design will be making its way into a Maccas near you remains to be seen, but if it doesn’t, let’s just say we won’t be overly disappointed. Check it out above.
