Aside from being a bonafide action star and the one actor in Hollywood who doesn’t have his own head up his ass, it might surprise you to know that Keanu Reeves plays bass in a grunge band. Named ‘Dogstar’ (how much more Gen X can you get?), the trio garnered decent success in the late ’90s and early 2000s, however, they eventually disbanded as Reeves ascended higher up the list of the Hollywood elite.
However, over the past year the band have been posting BTS images and clips on Instagram, seemingly teasing their long-awaited reunion. Now, the time has come, with the band writing online, “We will be rolling out some new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as it’s all figured out we will let everyone know immediately. So much to do, but rest assured, we are on it and have assembled a fantastic team that are helping us. We are also going to make a music video to support our first tune. That’s all I can say now.”

And if you’re keen on seeing them live, you might be in luck, as the band have also been posting a bunch of shots of them on stage at private events around the US. Add the fact that their upcoming release is the most “satisfying and meaningful batch of songs we’ve ever done”, and we’re guessing that they’ll be set on taking their live show across the world. And let’s face it, swarms of fans would turn up just to see Keanu Reeves shred on bass alone, so they’d have no troubles on the ticket sales front. Check out their teasing of new music above, along with some of their OG releases from the 1990s below.
