After teasing fans on social media over the past few weeks, KennyHoopla and Travis Barker’s ‘ESTELLA//’ is here.

If you’ve been following Wisconsin-based musician KennyHoopla’s Instagram, you may have noticed when he posted a picture with punk legend Travis Barker last month, leading fans to speculate that there was a collab cooking. Well speculate no moe – last week, they dropped the emotionally charged track ‘ESTELLA//’, and this morning they’ve shared an epic visual accompaniment.

Over the course of his brief career, we’ve heard KennyHoopla sway between genres such as post-punk, electro, trap and more, but Barker’s influence on ‘ESTELLA//’ is inescapable, with the duo creating a track that is heavily pop-punk influenced. Here Kenny’s vocals and the raw energy within them are let loose over Barker’s thumping rhythms and trademark hi-hat work.

Belting out lines like “I don’t wanna fake it til I make it/I don’t need to see it to believe it / I don’t need to touch it, I can taste it / All the shame feels the same when the pain hits” it’s clear that Kenny believes every word that comes out of his mouth. It’s that level of authenticity which has seen him in hot demand, having already dropped collabs with Grandson and Jesse Rutherford from the Neighbourhood as well as Nothing Nowhere.

The clip, which was shot by 21-year-old director Zac Matias AKA Lonewolf, is fittingly cool as we follow Kenny as deals with his dumping from Estella. Of course, Barker comes through and saves the day and the two take to a highly stylised room made of paper (which we’re pretty sure is where all of the best songs are written…)
