It’s clear Kurt Cobain and Nirvana helped define punk and rock in the ’90s, the group’s haunting jams exploding with mad resonance since their debut album Bleach in 1989. The years have seen countless tributes, in the form of covers, sampling, memorabilia and so many more. But one area that is seeming to pick up more and more every day is the area of body ink, with numerous Cobain fans going under the needle to pay homage to their god.
Musical genius and Man On The Moon creator Kid Cudi is the latest to do so, getting a tattoo of Cobain wearing a Daniel Johnston t-shirt at the 1992 MTV VMAs. Taking to Instagram to show off the new ink, Cudi wrote “4 Kurt and salute to Daniel.”
Cudi has never been one to hide his obsession with Cobain, one of his first ever tweets from way back in 2011 simply reading “Kurt Cobain” as well as sharing a video of himself rising the park right near where Cobain died in 1994. More recently, Cudi sampled Cobain on ‘Cudi Montage’ in 2018’s Kids See Ghosts. I’m sure we’ll see plenty more Cobain tributes from Cudi in the future, but for now, check out the various shoutouts “The Chosen One” has already made to his musical hero below.

Im obsessed with Kurt Cobain. I wish he was still here, so he could teach me guitar tricks.
