Fiery times.

(Insert pun about the clip being “lit” here.)

It seems that Melbourne psych lords King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are progressively getting heavier and heavier, with their latest single, ‘Self-Immolate’ being the closest thing to metal the group has ever produced.

The tune, which just dropped this morning follows on from the Kraftwerk-esque ‘Cyboogie’, the bumpkin-folk jingle ‘Fishing For Fishies’, and the equally as heavy ‘Planet B’. And it’s got us wondering how all of these tracks are going to fit on one record (if indeed they are), but I suppose you never know with Gizz…

The clip, which was directed by John Stewart seems to be a continuation from ‘Planet B’ (the one where they were blasted with a shotgun-wielding psycho) and is equally as dark. Check it out below:

You can catch King Gizz in all their weirdness when they head around the country over June and July. Check out the dates below and here for tickets.
