In addition to Robert Plant, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Asegir, Lionel Richie sitting proudly their lineup, the crew over at Bluesfest have been pulling a few surprises over the past few weeks. They announced polarising pop star Kesha in December, and now, a surprise headline act has been added to the Easter weekend soiree, and it’s pretty fantastic.
Whether it’s as a solo artist or member of The Fugees, Lauryn Hill has been one of the most impactful figures in soul and hip-hop, especially on her compelling debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She’s also featured alongside Method Man, D’Angelo and Nas on the immortal ‘If I Ruled The World,’ making her concise catalogue an absolute treat that’s begging to be played live at Bluesfest.
