Northern Beaches sibling duo Lime Cordiale are going global despite the ridiculousness of the global pandemic, the Hot 100 extraordinaries linking up with none other than Hobbs & Shaw star Idris Elba for their new single ‘Apple Crumble.’
The track sees the ‘Robbery’ singers bring their classic pop sensibilities to the table, uplifting piano lines and tangy guitar chords laying beneath their infectious vocals. We also get a peak of Elba’s singing and rapping prowess, the A-lister alternating between serenading and peppering us with bars as he proves that he’s a man of many talents.
It seems the partnership manifested from a genuine connection between the two artists, with Oli from the Lime crew explaining “We wrote everything together. We were all writing lyrics – it wasn’t our music or his music, it was smack bang down the middle with every lyric” with Idris adding “They filled me with a lot of confidence. I come from a DJ background, have always rapped, but never considered myself a singer.”
Along with the new single, the two creative forces have announced their forthcoming mini-album Cordi Elba, set for release on January 14th.
To put the icing on the cake, the Lime brothers have shared the latest update on their national tour. Now, the two maestros will be taking to stages across the country in April/May next year with a third and final Sydney show going on sale this Friday. And with Teenage Dads, ILUKA and Dulcie (WA only) on supports, the brothers from the beaches will well and truly be bringing the party.
