Dialling up the hype around her upcoming album to fever pitch, Mallrat has today announced the details of what will be her first debut project, Butterfly Blue. Set to be released on May 13, Mallrat precedes the album with new track ‘Teeth,’ which is out today and marks the project’s third single following 2021’s ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Your Love’ earlier this year.
Speaking of the track, Mallrat said that she’d “like to think that if ‘Teeth’ was out in 2004, it would be on the OC soundtrack.” On it, the Brisbane-born musician delivers a high-octane pop-rock track, with signature airy vocals adding to what she calls “a blurry ball of energy.” ‘Teeth’ will form one of over a dozen songs on Butterfly Blue, with the album’s full tracklist and highly-anticipated collaborations set to be announced soon.
Despite being her debut effort, Butterfly Blue will add to what is an already impressive catalogue from the songstress, who’s previous releases ‘Uninvited,’ ‘In The Sky’ and ‘Driving Music’ have amassed some 300 million streams. Since then, Mallrat has sold-out headline shows from New York to London, and cemented her place as a festival mainstay in Australia.
‘Teeth’ is out now. You can buy/stream it here and pre-order Butterfly Blue here.
