Just three months out from its inaugural return and Byron Bay festival Splendour in the Grass has today announced its official dates for 2023. Posting a sly teaser to its socials, the Northern Rivers mainstay has let slip that July 21st to July 23rd will indeed be the dates to save for this year’s iteration, while adding that onsite camping will be accessible from July 19th.
The announcement comes one week after an official apology from SITG for the chaos of its 2022 event. Releasing a statement on their website, co-founders Paul Piticco and Jess Ducrou wrote online that the festival was “without a doubt the most challenging and difficult” they’ve ever done while adding that “While we can’t control the weather, we can manage how we respond and for that, we are deeply sorry.”
And for those worried that history is set to repeat itself this year, you can lay those fears to rest, with Piticco and Ducrou adding, “We have invested enormous amounts of time and money over the last six months to upgrade the venue and our processes. We will continue to do so right up until Splendour 2023.”
Reassuring words, to say the least. In the meantime, be sure to check out the official teaser for Splendour in the Grass 2023 above. You can also visit the official SITG website here for more info.
