The acclaimed songwriter/producer’s forthcoming LP Everything’s Fine is just one month away…

Four years on from his iconic ‘Rainbow Valley’ tour that saw him play the likes of Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, Brisbane Convention Centre and Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, beloved artist Matt Corby has today announced his ‘Everything’s Fine’ tour, in support of his forthcoming album of the same name. To celebrate the announcement, Corby has also shared another taste of the upcoming LP, releasing his latest single ‘Big Smoke’.

Made up of ethereal strings and synths, that new cut definitely captures the laid back nature of past singles like ‘No Ordinary Life’ and ‘All That I See’, but with added psychedelic elements that swirl around the listeners mind long after the song’s conclusion. The inclusion of Corby’s breathy vocals helps to further cement the dreaminess of the record as a whole, his repetition of lines like “There’s not enough time/to be so sad” equal parts hypnotic and soul-stirring.

The auditory haziness that is rife throughout the four minute single nicely echoes the song’s lyrical content, with Corby explaining, “’Big Smoke’ is a song that touches on the duality on living with your vices but being conscious of the fact they are probably not good for you.” It’s another introspective ballad from the eclectic songwriter, and thankfully, with his upcoming LP Everything’s Fine just one month away, it seems he’s got plenty more waiting to be heard.

Speaking on the upcoming album (set to be released on March 24th) and how COVID changed his creative process, Corby explains, “All of that chaos helped me not be neurotic with this album process and get to the point where I accepted things. Like, I couldn’t sit and stew over how something sounded and potentially make it worse if I was needed elsewhere.”

It’s safe to say Matt Corby’s upcoming album Everything’s Fine will be well worth the wait and then some. His new single ‘Big Smoke’ is out now.
