It really is gonna be an Endless Summer

In what’s sure to be one of the most funkadelic run of shows next year, American synth-wave duo The Midnight have announced that they’re returning to Australia early next year.

Making the most of the Australia’s forthcoming endless summer (all the while calling back to their debut LP of the same name) the upcoming run of shows will kick off on February 29th will see the band play songs from their latest record, Heroes. Recorded during COVID quarantine, the new body of work from the Los Angeles natives features glimmers of the glory days of rock, with the influence of veterans such as Springsteen, The Police, AC/DC and more ever present as they craft vivid soundscapes of melody and rhythm.

It’s a pretty sweet deal when you think of it, one made sweeter by the fact that they’ve locked in some intimate venues like Sydney’s Enmore Theatre’ Brissy’s Princess and Melbourne’s Forum. Tracks new and old such as ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Sunset’ and ‘Aerostar’ and more are no doubt set to get a rinsing or two, and judging by their recent live performance of ‘Heroes’, it looks like the LP’s title track is set to be a standout moment.
