What do you miss most about your pre-lockdown life? Watching live music? Spontaneous orgies? Or simply coughing on food at all-you-can-eat restaurants? Yes, we all have our kinks. For producer, poet and pop-culture prince Tubby Custard, it’s nights out getting sideways on drugs and his favourite fast food that he can’t do without. Now he has released a new-wave anthem that encourages people to get jabbed in order for him to once again dance the night away with sweet lady MDMA.
Titled, ‘Get The Vaxx’, the tune sounds like a long lost Kraftwerk demo that Tubby Custard has resurrected and reshaped to suit the modern ear. Lyrically, there isn’t a lot to unpack here that hasn’t already been mentioned, with TC keeping it straightforward enough that even anyone who is still umming and ahhing about the jab will be able to understand. Plus, there are some helpful reminders about doing your tax, which are always welcome as we move into that post tax season, which is around the time I remember to do my return.
