New bedtime lullaby unlocked…

Sydney/Eora rock revivalist Steven W. Schouten AKA Misty Lanes, is starting 2023 strong, returning to the studio for one of his most hard-hitting, yet vulnerable releases yet.

Titled ‘Would You Believe?’, the new track from the ‘And Here We Are’ hitmakers is a poignant reflection on climate change and the human urge to find meaning in everything, even when there’s none to be found. Despite its seemingly gloomy premise, the soundscape of the song and is totally vibrant and otherworldly, with dreamy pianos, harpsichords and Mellatron synths taking centre stage as the Sydney maestro crafts a bedtime lullaby of blissful proportions.

The accompanying video sees Schouten play out the song across Sydney, performing each instrumental section by his lonesome as we’re treated to a full musical breakdown of the gem that is ‘Would You Believe’.

To coincide with the release, he has announced a sophomore LP, Colourless Green Ideas, slated for release on March 8th. Recorded over half a decade, the LP delves into all corners of the psychedelic rock, pop, folk, funk spectrums and more, as Misty Lanes Crafts an album of planetary proportions.
