Get ready Yeezy Stans, as you’re about to get what you’ve been waiting for. It’s been reported that Netflix just copped the rights to a Kanye West documentary for a whopping $30 million USD (around $40 million AUD), and is said to span over two decades of footage and home videos from Yeezy’s life.
The doco will have numerous parts and is said to be helmed by music video producing duo Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah AKA the geniuses who produced West’s 2004 video “Jesus Walks (Version 3)” as well as the legendary “Through the Wire.” Their other credits involve the 2012 ESPN “30 for 30” documentary as well as music videos for Lupe Fiasco, Erykah Badu and numerous others.
The doco is said to cover everything from Yeezy’s music career, his fashion empire, his presidential bid and even the death of his mother, Donda West. No word on a title for the new doco, but it’s reported it’ll be released later this year. So start revising your Yeezy knowledge and get keen!
