In a music industry where it’s near impossible to make money off royalties, bookers have a monopoly on venues and social media makes you pay for any kind of promotion you do, staying afloat definitely takes a lot of determination and skill (not to mention the tunes too). No one knows this more than New York based outfit Navy Gangs.
The group have slowly but surely created a deafening buzz from the basement level up – half the band actually lived in guitarist Noah Kohll’s grandma’s basement upon moving from Nebraska. Through putting on their own shows, forging their own community and hustling in the Big Apple they’ve been able to deliver some slick, slacker-pop tunes into the world.

Having just released ‘1Alone,’ the haunting and droney second single from their much anticipated debut LP Poach, backed by distribution deals in the US and Australia, it seems that things are shaping up nicely for the band who are currently in the midst of a 30-date North American tour. All we have to do now is convince them to come over to Australia…
