Perfect for those long summer nights.

Northern Beaches heroes Ocean Alley are back with beauty of a track ‘Tombstone’. Recorded at the Grove Studios and produced by long time collaborator Callum Howell, the release couldn’t have come at a better time. With fires burning across Australia and smoke filling the sky, Ocean Alley have chucked in their two cents about how they feel regarding the country’s current climate emergency.

Bolstered by bright psychedelic guitars and a steady beat, Baden Donegal’s powerhouse vocals are better than ever. Singing about a place that once used to be an oasis, Ocean Alley continue to prove their depth as songwriters as they sing about the wasteland that is taking hold across the country. The build up and chorus are every bit as hard-hitting as you’d expect, with the boys coming through with the funky guitar lines and piercing vocals they’ve become famous for.

It’s hard not to feel moved by the track, with the band putting into words the anxiety that everyone in Australia for some time now. It just goes to show that Ocean Alley has huge range as musicians and songwriters, being able to go from crafting fun and carefree hits like ‘Yellow Mellow’ and ‘Confidence’ to real thought provokers like ‘Tombstone’.

The band are stronger than ever, and by coming through with hits like ‘Stained Glass’, ‘Infinity’ and now ‘Tombstone’ in between extensive touring in 2019, it’s perfectly clear why they’re one of, if not the, most beloved bands in the country.
