It’s clear that these two are doing something a little more unique and substantial than most producers in the dance realm – and after glowing reviews across the globe, the Shelter tour will be hitting Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this weekend. While Sydney’s show has been sold out for a minute, you can still grab tickets to the remaining two dates here, where the duo will be joined by Lido and Elk Road.
In celebration of the tour, we’ll be giving away a double pass to each of the three shows. All you have to do is email [email protected] and tell us your favourite Porter Robinson or Madeon track and why. Too easy! We’ll pick our winners this Thursday, February 23, so cross your fingers.
Ahead of the dates, Porter has handed us an exclusive tour diary of his adventures with Madeon thus far across the United States. See below for a sneak peek of what’s in store for Australia, and prepare yourselves for a audio-visual delight that’ll send you to another planet:
Hugo, Preston and I were completely in awe of Danger’s show. We just sat there in relative silence and watched.
Our ONLY pre-show ritual was the most disorganized, chaotic handshake one could do. It was different every night and got messier and more incomprehensible as the tour went on.
Bill Graham in San Francisco was so massive and magical, we were soundchecking here hours before the doors would open.
This was the inside of the tour bus. I miss this place.
This was shot at rehearsal on the last day of the US run, in Seattle’s WaMu theater. Daft Punk had played that venue ten years ago for the Alive 2007 tour and I was particularly excited by that.
Walking around in Québec before our show is a fond memory. You experience locations very differently when they change daily. I was starting to miss home a bit by that point, so reading French everywhere was a small oasis of homeliness!
