You may remember at the end of last year we featured Brisbane indie-pop up-and-comer Sycco AKA Sasha McLeod’s single ‘Peacemaker’ in our top 20 music videos of 2019. The track and clip, which featured loads of colour and bubbly energy, contributed to the swelling hype around the 18-year-old – currently she’s amassing over 100K monthly Spotify listeners and has already been spotlighted by triple j.
Proving that it wasn’t a fluke, the exciting young prospect returned with the visually intriguing and musically compelling ‘Dribble’ just last week. The track sees her stray from the uptempo ‘Peacemaker’ and ‘Nicotine’, slowing it down and throwing out big melodic hooks both vocally and with a huge post-chorus guitar line. It’s her most rewarding song, and we’re finding ourselves coming back to for second and third dips each time it cues on the daily playlist.
The clip, which was directed by Madeline Randall and Summer King, is a collage of cool visuals including some fruit smushing (pretty sure that’s the professional term), moppy jumpsuits and blurry closeups. It captures the DIY nature of the track with a mix of digital and camcorder footage making sure there’s never a bland moment.

Of course, with such a lush clip, there’s gonna be some tasty BTS shots. Check them out, as captured by Madeline Randall, below with incredibly insightful captions from Sycco herself:
For real how long do my fingers look here? I’d say maybe 15cm RAWR – kinda cool.
Me staying hydrated and wondering about if dogs are gods because they are each other spelt backwards?

Some yummy yummy fruit, how crazy that these are just BORN directly by Mother Nature??
I got angry and crushed all the yummy fruit.
I dropped all of the yummy fruit on the ground….
Still crushing the fruit.
