If you’ve been following indie/rock four-piece PLANET over the past couple of years, you will probably have noticed the lads working hard to carve out a name for themselves as one of the country’s most promising prospects, both in terms of songwriting and live performance. Anyone who has made it to any of their shows is probably already familiar with the mass sing-a-longs and swilling of beer that goes down when the group deliver a fine blend of huge choruses and rhythms that get you shaking.
Fans of the group have been holding out for new music since they dropped the massive ballad ‘Aching Dream,’ the first track from their forthcoming EP, and last night triple j listeners will have had the pleasure of hearing ‘Save.Sold’ – the upbeat, reverb-drenched new tune from the band.
“We felt like ‘Save.Sold’ had a lot of organic energy when we were jamming it up in the Central Coast, so Matt and I spent our time in the studio pulling dirtier guitar tones and bigger sounds. It’s got a real industrial vibe to it and is definitely one of the heavier tracks off the EP,” says guitarist Tom Peppit.
Along with new tune, the lads have announced the will be joining DMA’s for a bunch of European dates towards the middle of the year as well as domestic shows in March at Waywards in Sydney (tickets here) and The Gasometer in Melbourne (tickets here). Don’t miss an opportunity to catch these guys before they blow up overseas!
