Post Malone has yet to release a bad song.

Building on momentum generated by the immense, out-of-the-blue success of ‘White Iverson’ in February of 2015, the Dallas-raised songwriter has released a number of similarly well-received singles over the last year, the most recent of which – ‘Go Flex’ – arrived just last week.

If Malone’s brand of slurred, hazy R&B was hard to fit into a specific genre before, ‘Go Flex’ is on another level of creativity. The single features the kind of shimmering acoustic guitar work you’d expect to find on a Bright Eyes cut alongside understated hip-hop beats and a breezy, sing-along chorus. Produced by Charlie Handsome and Rex Kudo, the track’s subtle vocal harmonies and anthemic string section come together into one of the most mellow, pop-oriented songs Post has dropped to date.

The film noir-inspired music video lands Malone in a desert, braids in place, gold grills shining, brandishing a fairly menacing spiked bat. Directors James DeFina and Chris Velona also include shots of Malone strumming a guitar, as well as some of his signature swagged-out wardrobe choices, one of which  is a fringed leather cowboy shirt. Huge.

Check out the video below, and catch Malone on the rest of his North American tour alongside none other than Justin Bieber.
