After a two year hiatus, Bleeding Knees Club gifted us their Chew The Gum EP and a brand spankin’ new lineup in April, and it was just enough to get us licking our lips for more. Having relocated to Sydney, the ex-Gold Coast outfit have been knuckling down, working on new music for your listening pleasure from an upcoming album due out in May 2018.
First single ‘Case’ is so catchy it hurts – it’s a grungy track that frontman Alex Wall says was inspired by working a nine to five. “Last year I started working full-time for the first time in my life. And at first it felt like I was getting a lobotomy. Some days it was as if my brain was melting inside my skull, dripping out of my ears and I was becoming a robot,” he said.
Don’t worry, we feel you Alex:

We guarantee you’ll be craving the summer sun as you sing along in agreement to lines like, “Watching the clock count-down so slowly I could die,” all while flipping off your boss and heading out the door. Breaking out with some huge guitars and Dave Grohl-esque drumming, ‘Case’ inspires some serious head-banging and it will no doubt be a festival favourite. It’s got us keen for more Bleeding Knees Club, and more songs that we can all relate to, even if we wish we couldn’t.
‘Case’ is out Friday, November 10 right here, and you can catch Bleeding Knees Club playing an All Ages show November 11 at Moruya Jockey Club, Moruya (tickets here) and a free show on December 1 at the legendary Selina’s at Coogee Bay Hotel. That is, unless your boss makes you work overtime…
